Thyroid is an important endocrine gland normally situated in the neck.Thyroid may be abnormally situated inside chest cavity or behind the sternum(Retrosternal ).An enlarged gland or tumour of Thyroid gland situated inside cavity may be treated by surgical excision of thyroid gland after entering into thoracic cavity.
