He passed post graduate degree in surgery from National Board Of Examinations & Post doctoral MCh in Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery from Calcutta University.He became the member of National Academy Of Medical Sciences(NAMS), the apex academic body of medical sciences of India in 2000.
